Would you marry a convicted Murderer?

Society has created an expectation for young woman to walk down the aisle wearing a white dress before the age of 30 and some woman become desperate when they hit the big 30. But a question that comes to mind is what if your fiancĂ© is a convicted killer? Would the fiancĂ© or husband to be, be accepted by the family and friends of the partner.  This topic came to mind when watching a TV programme where some woman fell in love with convicted murderers and in some cases sacrificed their families for their love with the prisoners.

In South Carolina  USA a woman called Shirl Borden was engaged to marry Joseph Druce, a Massachusetts inmate who is serving a life sentence without parole for the murders of two people, myfoxboston.com reports.  The two of them had never even met in person but were in contact through letters.  In another story from 1989 a reporter went to interview a murderer in prison and fell in love with the murder. She divorced her husband and left her two children and married the convict.

Well the question I’ve asked myself is society fair at judging these people who have fallen in love. I am not sure whether falling in love with a convict is moral or not, but maybe it is the only way some people will fulfill their dreams of walking down the aisle in a white dress. Even if it is a prison aisle their dreams  would be fulfilled .

  1. I'd rather be single, what if he kills me before we walk down the aisle. I think the issue mentioned above also has to do with esteem issues. If you are content with who you are, you are complete whether you are married or single. I see women with a low self-esteem. I am not saying convicts should not be loved.
