Jackie Evancho’s angelic voice

I am blown away by Jackie Evancho’s beautiful voice. The tiny 11-year-old with the extraordinarily big voice and perfect pitch left a group of friends astonished when we were watching a DVD by David Forester and friends. Evancho’s debut album Dream With Me, produced by David Foster has been available since June this year and am looking forward to getting my hands on a copy. Evancho collaborates with Foster on a repertoire ranging from classical arias to pop classics to show tunes with highlights that include two extraordinary superstar duets showcasing the young vocalist performing with Barbra Streisand and Susan Boyle.
“I can say without a doubt that working with Jackie on Dream With Me was truly phenomenal. Her natural ability and the depth of her understanding of the musical process left me speechless. I think we have created a musical experience that will thrill audiences of every age. She was a pure joy to work with and I had a front row seat to one of the next great talents of our time,” said David Foster. http://www.jackieevancho.com/za/home

My big fat BIG dream.

In order to achieve big things in your life, you must be willing to think big. You should dream big and envision your goals to make them happen. Achieving your targets and goals is best achieved when you can imagine every detail of what it is you want to achieve.
My big fat BIG dream in life is to be able to help others who can’t help themselves. I would like to be in a position whereby I can be able to change people’s to be better and contribute transforming my surrounding community. I would be happy even if I would win the lotto and contribute in emancipating a group of people economically by building them houses and employing and training them to become more financially dependent.
My big fat BIG dream is to bring hope to those without hope and knowledge to those without information. My big fat BIG dream in life is to be content. Money may solve many problems, but may also be a gateway to many disappointments; therefore in all I do contentment is the glue for my dreams to be fulfilled.

To diet or not to diet...

Being on a diet can be challenging because it needs discipline and motivation as well as self control.  It could be dangerous whereas on the other hand it could be valuable and beneficial.  Diets vary on occasions yet some could lead to anorexia or bulimia, leaving some people physically and psychologically damaged or even scarred for life.  Being in full control of yourself and what you want of yourself is therefore important because you are able to control yourself as well as having power over what you eat and what not to eat.  For people who are naturally big (obese) or unhealthy it could therefore be advantageous because it not only makes you lose weight but it also gives you knowledge on what you eat and the nutritional value of it, therefore keeps you aware of what your body desperately needs and what it does not.  On a medical note it is also advantageous because one could avoid diseases such as hypertension, heart related diseases as well as diabetes.  Therefore diets are not all that bad.

You cannot chase two rabbits at the same time.

Trying to pursue too many things at once may lead to not making any progress. Sometimes the idea behind the idiom killing two birds with one stone is not always easy to do practically.
One might be frustrated with wanting to do everything and solve all their problems at once, but the problem with all humans is that we think of here and now and want to concur everything at once. Thinking laterally and strategically should be how we thinking of catching two rabbits with distinction than not attaining any rabbit at all. There is no use just chasing without reaching the goals that we set for ourselves.
A story is told about a martial arts student approached his teacher with a question. "I'd like to improve my knowledge of the martial arts. In addition to learning from you, I'd like to study with another teacher in order to learn another style. What do you think of this idea?" "The hunter who chases two rabbits," answered the master, "catches neither one."

This story reminds you not to take on more than you can handle. It brings to mind a candid camera segment I once saw. A little grocery store put a big table outside heaped with oranges, and a sign that said 'FREE', but they purposely didn't leave anything to carry them in. The humor was in watching everyone try to take 3 or 4 more than they could humanly carry. I guess a good tie-in would be that if you get greedy, you might get nothing!
 One can catch all the rabbits they want if they just have foresight and patience.

'Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus

Through good and bad, this song has been my pillar and my favourite song that has kept me strong over the years.

'Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
                    and to take him at his word;
                    just to rest upon his promise,
                    and to know, "Thus saith the Lord."
Refrain:
                    Jesus, Jesus, how I trust him!
                    How I've proved him o'er and o'er!
                    Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
                    O for grace to trust him more!

2.                 O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
                    just to trust his cleansing blood;
                    and in simple faith to plunge me
                    neath the healing, cleansing flood!
                    (Refrain)

3.                 Yes, 'tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
                    just from sin and self to cease;
                    just from Jesus simply taking
                    life and rest, and joy and peace.
                    (Refrain)

4.                 I'm so glad I learned to trust thee,
                    precious Jesus, Savior, friend;
                    and I know that thou art with me,
                    wilt be with me to the end.
                    (Refrain)

Conventional is a good fallback position isn’t it?

Living a conventional lifestyle means to abide to laws and follow certain procedures and abide to structures... a way of living that is on the safe side of life, but what one needs to ask why be conventional?

Conventional is a term that strikes me as boring, lame, safe but most importantly uncreative!
In fact, being conventional is merely conforming to socially accepted customs of behaviour or style, especially when it comes to lacking imagination.

It’s a word that I feel society invented to give people a sense of purpose on earth and not truly discovering who they truly are because... ‘You can just be seen as ordinary, simple and conventional’. It’s safe and no one would ever think lesser of higher of you.
Having comfort zones and being too comfortable with the status quo is not good. One needs to mix their conventional norms to modern trends and expectations without bending their morals in order to be successful in life.

What will my baby look like....

I often sit and wonder what my baby will look like one day. The excitement and feeling of being a father one day is so overwhelming and makes one naive and inquisitive.
I became excited when I came across a website called make-my baby.com and several others that claim that they are able to predict what your baby will look like by merging your picture and your partners online on their website.  (Combine two pics of you and your significant other to see what your kid will look like! www.make-mybaby.com )

With excitement I quickly uploaded a picture of my partner and myself. OOOOHHH NOOOO!!!! :-(
The results were scary!!! LOL!!! Well the moral of the story is I need to be patient and wait till my partner eats ‘baking powder’ and eventually pops after 9 months. Really now, was I so stupid….. Please see the results from the website below.
