You cannot chase two rabbits at the same time.

Trying to pursue too many things at once may lead to not making any progress. Sometimes the idea behind the idiom killing two birds with one stone is not always easy to do practically.
One might be frustrated with wanting to do everything and solve all their problems at once, but the problem with all humans is that we think of here and now and want to concur everything at once. Thinking laterally and strategically should be how we thinking of catching two rabbits with distinction than not attaining any rabbit at all. There is no use just chasing without reaching the goals that we set for ourselves.
A story is told about a martial arts student approached his teacher with a question. "I'd like to improve my knowledge of the martial arts. In addition to learning from you, I'd like to study with another teacher in order to learn another style. What do you think of this idea?" "The hunter who chases two rabbits," answered the master, "catches neither one."

This story reminds you not to take on more than you can handle. It brings to mind a candid camera segment I once saw. A little grocery store put a big table outside heaped with oranges, and a sign that said 'FREE', but they purposely didn't leave anything to carry them in. The humor was in watching everyone try to take 3 or 4 more than they could humanly carry. I guess a good tie-in would be that if you get greedy, you might get nothing!
One can catch all the rabbits they want if they just have foresight and patience.
